Welcome to the new and improved Quilt Something! website and blog. We have been working really hard at getting this ready for it's debut. I hope you will find the site helpful, organized and most of all...inspiring. Feel free to post comments at any time....I'd love to hear from you. Have a question? Need a nudge in the right direction?
The comments below are pulled from the old blog site postings. They were recent and I didn't want their comments lost in the wind when we made the switch!

Phyllis:
I've been sewing since I was knee high and love it. I have one question I hope someone can help me with. I want to make a double wedding ring quilt for my daughter but when I sew the pieces together it's way to big for the melon shape piece. I read in the instruction that I was to use a slant stitch. What is this and do I need to purchase a different machine to do this? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!
Colleen answers: The double wedding ring quilt can be challenging! Make sure that your quarter inch seams are truly quarter inch-- that is the most common problem. Did you use templates to cut your shapes? You don't need to buy a new machine to do this quilt. A slant stitch might be recommended but isn't necessary. This stitch just gives a little extra give when you are fitting the pieces together. When sewing curved shapes together. make sure that the convex is on the bottom and you are fitting the concave to it. This might help as well.

Would you ever entertain the idea of putting your classes written form. I know that the greatest part of class is having that "expert" help you with the parts and pieces that one doesn't know. Problem is I don't have a schedule conducive to classes. I end up missing half of the sessions because I have to work. I love classes but I don't want to be completely left out because I can't physically be there. Maybe even do them on line. I don't know how to do it but I believe it can be done so that people can access the on-line class at their convenience. We still pay. We can still buy the supplies from you and you can ship them. What do you think? I have a center that teaches classes that is about 24 miles away-but, you already know the problem. I thought about throwing this idea out to them but this very sweet lady has so much going on and her staff members turn over so result is no organization. One day she will get it together. She has two shops and this one is the smaller one so it takes a back seat to service. Please understand, I love her! She has been great to me. But she isn't at a place to be able to pull this off. I have visited your shop several times on-line and I love your approach to business. You have it together! You are about promoting creativity in your customers and providing them with some extra know-how so they will reach for for what they desire. Me - well, I need tons of help. I look forward to your reply. Regardless of your decision, you keep at it. I think you are exactly on track. Thank you 8) for all you do.
Colleen answers: This is a very interesting idea. Since we are in the middle of revamping everything on our online side of the business, this might be just the thing to add. I'll explore the idea and see if it is feasible to do. (I'll bet it is, just give me a couple of months!) Thanks for writing and your generous comments!
